Mar 1, 2025 · I have the same exact issue. Called Microsoft to no avail. They said I no longer have access to the "new outlook" since my email is AOL. It has to be a Microsoft application, i.e. hotmail. Have to go back to using the "classic" version. However, draft emails do not forward back to the "classic" version.

The option to sign in with QR code is available in the personal outlook accounts "@outlook.com"; in Microsoft 365 you can generate the QR code to add the account in the Microsoft authenticator app and configure the passwordless authentication.
